Free Add-In to Remove Duplicate Items in Outlook

One of the most glaring omissions from every release of Outlook since its first release has been a way to find and delete/merge duplicate items, and anyone who has had to administer even the smallest of networks has had to deal with users who want you to find a way to get rid of all the dupes that have some fields that are similar to each other that is obvious only to them, and don’t want you to spend any time doing it manually, and don’t want to pay for a third-party add-in to do it automatically either…

For those who are (or have) in a situation like this, there is a free add-in called Outlook Duplicate Items Remover 1.4.4 by Vaita that will find duplicate items in your Contacts, Calendar, Tasks, Notes and Email folders, and moves all the duplicate items it finds into a subfolder so you can review what it found without worrying about deleting the wrong thing…

You can read a full description of what it does and Download ODIR Here.

*** NOTE *** According to their website, “ODIR runs in all Outlook versions starting from Outlook 2000. ODIR does NOT run in 64 bit Office versions (no problem in Office 32 bit on Windows 64 bit).”
